About This Site
Crochet Tools Hub publishes reviews, comparisons and step-by-step guides on the gear home crocheters actually use: ergonomic crochet hooks, locking stitch markers, yarn ball winders, project bags for yarn storage and blocking mats for finishing. Every piece is written from the chair, not the catalog, with an eye on comfort for tired hands and on what makes a finished project look the way you pictured it.

Crochet Safety
Crochet is a gentle craft, but it is still repetitive work for your hands and wrists. Take a break every 20 to 30 minutes, stretch your fingers and wrists, and stop if you feel numbness, tingling or sharp pain. Ergonomic handles can make crochet more comfortable, but they are not a treatment for arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome or any other condition. If symptoms persist, talk to a doctor or a hand therapist.
Small notions such as stitch markers, safety eyes, tapestry needles and blocking pins are choking hazards. Store them in a closed container away from small children and pets, and count your pins before and after blocking. Keep yarn and long tails away from infants, and never leave loose strands in a crib or near a sleeping baby.
When blocking with steam or a hot iron, keep the iron off acrylic yarn, which can melt or go limp, and keep the cord out of reach. Foam blocking mats are not heat resistant, so do not set a hot iron directly on them. Yarn winders and swifts have moving parts and clamps; keep fingers and hair clear while they spin, and check that the table clamp is tight before you start.
